2.99 frame from Goodwill ....TaDa!

Today at Goodwill I ran across a cool old frame for $2.99

Here is how I did it :)

I went home and pulled out a leftover piece of clear glass
and cut 2 pieces to fit in the back of the
frame where the cat picture was.

I had a super cute photo I took in front of this antique blue door that is in my den, I printed it on my inkjet printer and I added a wide border to make it the size I wanted to float in the middle.

Then I cut it out and centered it face down on the 1st piece of glass that I put in the frame. Put a piece of tape so it will stay put on the 2nd glass you lay down.

I sandwiched the image in the glass
so you can see the blue door behind the glass
as it is the same as in the picture.

Stencil & Stained pine porch table

Less than $10 porch table makeover

I had an Pintrest inspiration and ran to Big Lots
found a plastic table cloth for $5.....and ;)

After sanding the top I cut and taped the cloth like a puzzle

Because the plastic was folded and I could not wait to let it rest to get the wrinkles out so I used a heat gun.
I had some cream colored spray paint so here we go!

I loved how the pattern turned out but wanted more contrast.
I had some mahogany stain in my shop.

What do you think? I love it!!!

SuperCute custom Roman Shades I made :)

2 custom Roman Shades I made for $51!

I found this shower curtain at Helping Hands in Rockwall for $1! Came home, washed and ironed it ready to sew.

Then I found these 2 Roman Shades at Big Lots for $25 each. They are the correct width but too long. So I cut to length and then....

.

I measured the fabric and what luck when folded in half it is perfect!

Then I put the Velcro back together and hung the shade. The top piece I left alone and liked the contrast.

cherry cabinet doors and a saw!

I found glass cherry cabinet doors at Habitat ReStore for $5 each!

Ok, they were the right length but none were the correct width....No worries!!! We will cut them down and use a biscuit joiner to splice them together :)

Here is the old door to match the measurements
remove all the hardware before sanding and painting
In this case I need to take the door down 12" in width. I find the center and then measure out 6" each way to mark the cut. Then I used a chop saw to make the cuts. Now you can put together and see that it is perfect!

Next is to use the biscuit joiner, wood glue and wood biscuits to connect each side. (I will post Biscuit Joiner videos soon)
After glue drys sand the seams and get ready to paint!
I decided to use a mirror in the door for my bathroom to hide all my husbands stuff...I will post how to cut the mirror/glass so you can do it too!

Salvation Army Wedding Gown from the 1990's  to WOW! $99 and a pair of scissors...Perfect!

With the Bridal Show around the corner I took my model and off we went looking for a dress to shoot her in. After many shops and no luck a nice lady at a boutique told us to check out the Salvation Army store in Dallas...Who would have thought!  Out of almost 20 gowns this one fit perfectly! EXCEPT for the style! :(

So we bought it for the price of $99! BUT if we had come back on Wed all clothes are 1/2 off! Too bad I always wait till the last min and could not wait... We went home and I got the scissors out and we cut the sleeves off and I took the lace trim from across the neck which was already the back of the arm and stitched it to the front as a strap......
